About the Scholarship

The William V. Rakauskas, Ed.D. ’61 & Marie Rakauskas Memorial Scholarship was established by his family and the award will go to a deserving graduating senior from any high school in Lackawanna County who has been accepted at The University of Scranton. Preference will be given first to a student majoring in English or Education.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the William V. Rakauskas, Ed.D. '61 and Marie Rakauskas Memorial Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

Display good character and make a commitment to his/her academic goals.
Submit a written two-page, typed and double-spaced essay. The essay should address the above and why you are deserving of this scholarship.
Be a graduating senior from any high school in Lackawanna County or Lackawanna Trail.
Submit this application by Monday, April 22, 2024.
